Typically when people bring their business online they tend to get overwhelmed and not really get a lot done.  If you’re facing this problem right now, you’re not the only one.  So today I’ve decided to clear this up for you.

The truth of the matter is that it’s really easy to get overwhelmed when we’re learning something as big and broad as internet marketing.  It’s very easy to get stuck in consumption mode where we’re just learning information constantly and never putting anything into action.  Then after months or even years online we’ve learned $10,000 worth of information and have nothing to show for it.  If this sounds like you, TAKE A DEEP BREATH NOW, and…

…LET IT GO!

So what’s the key to overcoming feeling overwhelmed when marketing an mlm business online?

The key is taking action.  When you learn something that seems like it will work good for you, put it into immediate action and realize that it’s probably not going to work exactly as it does for the person who’s showing it to you, but when you STICK WITH IT and continue to tweak what you’re doing it will work better over time.  Don’t just take action either, take MASSIVE ACTION!  When you learn something, put it into massive action so that you’ll see some noticeable results and have enough action to test and tweak.

Let me explain this in a slightly different way that 1 of my mentors taught me… you see most people are like funnels… consuming information in the big top end, and then dripping out action at the bottom.  No wonder we get overwhelmed and backed up!  What you want to do to get over the overwhelmed feeling is flip that funnel upside down, and consume information through the small bottom end, and blast action out the big end!

So as an example… when you go through a training course that you paid $197 for, what most people do is take notes while they’re going through, and plan to implement all this stuff once they’ve gone through the course and understand what’s going on.  From here on out, know that it’s better to pause the video every 30 seconds or 5minutes or as often as needed so that you can immediately implement what you’re learning and put it into action.  This way, when you make your way through the entire course you’ve actually done what the course is teaching you to do.  Does that make sense?  If not, go back and re-read the past 3 paragraphs again.

Remember, the key is to simply take action 1 step at a time, and have faith that your mentors who are successful are telling you what works even if you don’t quite understand why it’s working.  (if you would have told me 3 years ago, that I’d have people calling me and asking to join my business because they found me online, I would have thought you were nuts, but that happened just this morning when I welcomed my newest team member from Canada)

Earlier today a good friend and student of mine asked me when it’s a good time to make money selling information…

She asked me over on my “Ask Jordan” tab on my blog, because I truly want to know how to best serve you, my audience to get your business in profit as fast as you can.  So today I’m going to share some of my personal insights and beliefs into when you should give away your information for free and when you should make money selling information.

Before I answer this question I’d like to tell you a little bit of a story.  Back when I got started with attraction marketing I believed I had to give everything away for free, and that the only thing I could charge money for was other people’s information because I lacked belief in the value of what I knew and what I was teaching.

Then one night I was on a myleadsystempro Wednesday webinar with Daegan Smith where he was teaching us how to make money selling webinars.  (I don’t mean selling something on a webinar, but rather make money selling information that you’re going to teach on a private webinar)

So I followed his step-by-step plan to make money selling information of my own, and we actually made somewhere around $800 selling a single webinar.  The best part is not the $800 but the fact that my now good friend Tom Merkey told me he was excited that I was finally ready to make money selling information rather than just giving it all away for free.

So in answer to your question Nicky, when is it alright to make money selling information??

It’s alright to make money selling information as soon as you want your followers to start being serious about following you and listening to you.  It’s great to give away free information all day long… I do it, and so should you.

The truth of the matter is that people are more committed when they pay for something, especially if they’re on a tight budget.  The real question to ask yourself is “Does what I’m teaching have the potential to make this person more money then they’re paying to learn it from me provided they take action?”

**notice I underlined “provided they take action”, because most people will buy something then never get the intended result due to lack of action on their part, and you have to be ok with knowing that.

When you decide to make money selling information, you’ll be doing your list, your followers, and your students a HUGE FAVOR because they will be more committed to learning what you’re teaching once they pay you for it.  Your list will actually appreciate it when you decide to make money selling information because you’re their leader, and they too want to make money selling information, and if you’re brand new…

…start here by offering other people’s information and training until you’re ready to make money selling information of your own!

David Wood has taught me a lot, but this 1 thing really is awesome…

It was more or less something that I watched him accomplish about 18 months ago, and I knew instantly that I had to do the same thing.  Although since then, David Wood has given me an exact name for it, and explained why it works so well.  When you implement this one concept into your life and your business you will achieve phenomenal results with ease.  I’m going to get to what he taught me in a minute, but first I want to answer a very important question.

Who is David Wood and why should you pay attention?

3. You edify the expert and because the prospect trusts you, they respect the expert
4. The expert speaks with your prospect and edifies you
5. The prospect trusts you more because they respect the expert who just edified you
6. The prospect wants to do business with you because they trust you even more now

This concept works great when you’re at any level in your business, and when you achieve more success and are able to connect with bigger experts this works extremely well.  Basically, the bigger your expert, the bigger the trust your prospect will have with you after the conversation or exposure.  In the case of David Wood and also what’s now happening with me, getting edified by Brian Fanale and Norbert Orlewicz of MLSP doesn’t even require a conversation with your prospect, but rather just public notoriety.

Learn how David Wood and I are building our businesses on the internet with ease!

Last night Ray Higdon absolutely crushed the MLSP webinar for a 3^rd time now…

That’s not including times he’s jumped out on the line to share some insights on group calls; I’m talking about his solo webinars.  If you don’t know Ray Higdon yet, you should, and let me tell you that not only is he a fun guy to be around, but he’s a great leader and mentor.  In fact he’s such a great leader and mentor that I finally joined Numis Network to surround myself with him.

Now I didn’t know Ray Higdon’s full back story until a little while ago, and when I first heard about Ray being the #1 earner in Numis and making it to L4 leader in MyLeadSystemPro really fast, I thought… “sure, it’s easy for him, he’s successful”.  Boy did I feel like a jerk when I heard what he went through not even 2 years ago.  Ray came from the brink of bankruptcy with his house in foreclosure to earning multiple, multiple 5-figures a month within his first 12 months in Numis.

So why is Ray Higdon able to build such a successful business…

In 1 word; Posture.  Even when he was on the verge of bankruptcy Ray Higdon still maintained the posture of I don’t need you to join my business, and in fact I might not even want you on my team.  I know this seems scary to most, it certainly was for me, but when a guy like Ray tells you that’s how he’s achieved over $40k a month in less than 2 years, I’d pay attention and take note.

The big reason Ray Higdon was able to maintain this posture of “I don’t care if you join my business” is because he made sure never to run out of leads.  Check out this webinar that he did where he reveals 10 ways to get 50 free leads a day. Ray has made sure that he’s had enough people to talk to that it truly doesn’t matter if 1000 people say no to joining his business.

As Ray Higdon mentioned last night, if your results are not where you want them to be, then you are not where you should be as a person.  This means that you must work on yourself, your mindset, your belief, and build your posture as a successful entrepreneur in order to get to where you want.  This will also mean letting your ego go, and being able to listen to what more successful people have to teach you.

Alright, so I’m sure you want 1 of the tips I learned last night from Ray Higdon, so I’m going to give you one of his mlm recruiting secrets.  Here’s 1 of the things he would say to someone who says they need more time to think about the opportunity after seeing information:

“perfect, I totally understand.  I prefer to work with people who know they are serious and ready to join my team.  Take as much time as humanly possible.  I do not like investing my time in someone that is not confident.”

The reason is that it’s ok for people to take time, you don’t want to pressure someone who’s analytical, but at the same time you’re using the takeaway subtly by telling them you only want to work with confident people.  Ray also said that he’ll send someone like that 10+ resources of information for them to review about the company.
