My biggest takeaway from No Excuses Summit 3

No Excuses Summit 3 was my 3^rd NES event, and I had quite a few major things happen this time around that absolutely were not happening at the first event I attended. These led me to my biggest take away from the event about what it truly takes to achieve success in this industry. Before I get into what I got out of this event, let me share with you where I was 2 years ago when I attended No Excuses Summit 1.

I was actually on the verge of quitting my business just weeks before the event, because I was only making about $1000 a month, and I was spending that much on my business. I actually couldn’t even afford to go to the event, even though I had my plane ticket and my event ticket. I had to borrow $500-$700 from my dad and step-mom just to be able to afford a hotel room and food while I was there.

Then when I got back I realized that I pushed all 3 of my business and personal bank accounts negative while I was there. The amazing thing was I was only eating about 1 meal per day, because that’s all I could afford. I even remember seeing someone eat the peanuts in his hotel room without even looking at the price, and I couldn’t believe it, because I knew they were like $14 for the box.

When I got back from NES1 I had a major breakthrough in my business… I made around $1400 the very next night selling a product of my own. I went on to have my very first $5000+ month within 2.5 months. I quit my job less than 3 months after NES1. Can you believe that I almost decided to quit my business less than 4 months earlier??

So at this No Excuses I saw a lot of new faces. I saw people who weren’t at the first 1, some that weren’t even at the 2^nd one. I also realized that there were a lot of people who were at the 1^st NES who were no longer in the industry. This is when I realized how grateful I was that I didn’t quit just a month before my massive breakthrough happened after NES1.

You see, MOST PEOPLE give up too soon. They give up when they’re inches from the bend in the road that’s going to start heading downhill for a little bit. THAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SUCCESS AND FAILURE. Failure’s give up too soon.

This event was absolutely amazing for me in a lot of other ways as well. Adam Chandler and I have setup 3 solid JVs with 2-3 more in the works just from speaking to a few 7 and 8 figure earners while we were at the event. The reason is because we’re still here. We didn’t quit when the times got tough.

Do you want to know our secret?

PASSION! Imagine for a moment that you’re living the life of your dreams 3-5 years from now. You don’t have a job so you get to wake up when your body decides. You get to go on vacation when you want. You can take days off when you choose. You’ll never miss a family function, wedding, or anything fun because your boss won’t give you off work. You get paid for helping people achieve their dreams. You choose to live where you want because it doesn’t matter where you live as long as you have internet. You can afford to buy nice things, and do nice things when you want. You no longer look at the price of food before you order off the menu at a restaurant. You get to spend time with your kids and watch them grow up (if you have kids)… and you no longer stress about money.

Now IMAGINE what would happen if someone came along and crushed your dreams after you achieved them. You have to go back to the life you currently have with all the things that you don’t like about it. Only worse… you’re further in debt… you haven’t gone on vacation in 7 years now… you’re living where you don’t want to live because of a job that pays too little and you had to take it… and you missed your kids growing up for the past 5 years because you’ve been just too busy working for peanuts.

Is it necessary to lie to recruit more reps into your network marketing company

I remember when I was in a network marketing company 10 years ago for about 2 months, and one of the young successful guys in the crew always said “fake it til you make it”…

Today I’m going to share some insights about becoming successful when you haven’t made a penny yet, and helping other people when you’ve yet to make a lot of money, because…

…I honestly thought I had to lie about how successful I was to recruit more reps into my network marketing company. As I’m sure a lot of new people in this industry believe they must do. What I quickly found out was that “fake it til you make it” means envision your own success before it happens. Act as if you’re successful and you’ll become successful.

It doesn’t mean that you have to lie to people to get them to join you.

For example… don’t tell people you’re making money when you’re not. Don’t tell people you can teach them how to make millions when you yourself haven’t made millions.

It is for this reason that the FTC and a lot of people get turned off by this industry. If everyone had a little more integrity when sharing these amazing opportunities with people we’d all be better off.

As of yet, I can’t tell someone that I can show them how to make $50,000 a month… why?? Because I haven’t figured it out yet. As soon as I do I’ll let you know.

I can however tell you that I can teach you how to make $10,000 per month because I’ve done it, but I also won’t sugar coat anything and tell you it was a piece of cake, because it wasn’t.

So how do you recruit people when you have yet to make money?

You could say something like “I’ve found this great opportunity to work with some very successful people who are willing to show us how they’re making $50,000 per month… Do you want to learn about it with me?”

This way you’re portraying your mentor’s success. You must rely on the success story of others in the beginning until you begin to create success of your own.

When I joined Numis I simply leveraged the names and stories of people like Ray Higdon, David Wood, Adam Chandler, and some other great mentors of mine who were well known in the industry. Why? Because I wasn’t successful yet in Numis.

After being in a year, I can now leverage my own success story.

This same thing applies to anything you’re doing. If you’re looking to teach people attraction marketing and get new team members in MLSP you don’t have to lie and tell them you’re generating tons of leads and making tons of money. You can simply start by saying, “I’ve learned how to generate my very first leads online following this simple approach some great mentors of mine have taught me… do you want to know what they taught me?”

The key is to focus on the success of others until you have your own success story, and even then it’s still great to leverage other people’s stories, because it takes the pressure off of you, and shows that other people are achieving results.

You can start on the path to creating your own online success story by first learning how to generate traffic and leads.

So just the other day I got an email from someone just like I get semi-regularly… and I realized that if he was asking this question and in this mindset, that maybe there were other people out there too.

In fact I know there are others out there with this mindset because I get this question from time to time, and…

…even though I only get it from time to time, I know that it’s important enough for me to answer and hopefully cause a mental shift in anyone who’s stuck in this mentality.

How to build conviction in yourself and your network marketing company

Just the other week I had the pleasure of interviewing an internet rockstar in my team, Damir Yarullin about his recent trip to a Numis University convention, and he really shares some deep insights into how being at this convention changed his own belief levels in himself, the team and the company.

Many people I meet believe they have to know it all about their company to enroll reps and build a successful team. I’ve even had team members of mine tell me they were glad their prospects didn’t ask questions after seeing a presentation, because they didn’t know any of the answers to questions that would have been asked.

Have you ever felt this way?

Today I’m going to teach you how to build a team and make money with 1 simple answer to almost every question you’ll get asked when you’re first starting out.

Would you life be easier if you only needed to know 1 answer? Of course it would, and today your life is going to get a lot easier!

So when you’re first starting out, and showing the business opportunity to your warm market prospects did you know it’s actually better if you don’t know everything about the company, and you aren’t perfect at presenting and showing the opportunity.

Let me tell you why it’s better for you to know nothing by sharing some insights with you.

What do you believe your warm market prospects will think about this “EASY BUSINESS FROM HOME” if you come in and pull off a flawless presentation, can recite every detail of the company compensation plan, know all about the company’s history, know every detail on how the product was extracted from the rainforest by award winning scientists from Zimbabwe, and can answer any and all questions they might have about the company, products, or business opportunity??

They’re going to look at what you’ve just done, and say this looks too difficult… I can’t do that, nor do I want to practice til I’m perfect like that so I can start making some extra money in this supposedly “EASY BUSINESS FROM HOME”.

However, if you follow what I teach in the Warm market training above, you’ll find that it’s entirely ok to suck terribly bad when you’re just starting out. In fact it’s better, because your warm market prospects will look at you and say “I can do this too… This looks like an EASY BUSINESS FROM HOME”

I’m sure by now you’re wondering what the 1 answer to almost every question is. It’s simple really.

After you’ve shown your prospects the presentation following what I teach in my warm market training, or even if you’ve found prospects online through attraction marketing, and they begin asking you questions about the company, comp plan, products, and really anything at all…

…you can simply say “you know what John, these are some really great questions. The truth is I’m brand new in this company and I don’t have the answers myself, however you and I can get on the phone with my good friend Jordan Schultz, because he’s been in the company a lot longer and he knows the answers to these great questions you’re asking. So let me get in touch with Jordan and figure out a time when the 3 of us can get together on the phone and he can answer your questions for you”

You see by letting John know that you’re not the expert and that you’ve got a great friend in your team who can answer his questions, you’re doing a few things right.

You’re letting John know that it’s ok to not be an expert in this business
You’re taking the pressure off of yourself, and you’re more likely to get more people in front of a presentation
You’re showing John that he’ll have great team support when he decides to join the team
You’ll also get to learn firsthand how your sponsor prospects people on the phone

So the lesson today is when you’re first starting out, DON’T BE AN EXPERT. Ignorance on Fire is far better in the beginning. Bring in the support of your sponsor or other upline support. (We’ve got a 3-way call contact list for our team) This is a team business, and it’s all about learning right in the field of action. Let your team support you and watch how easy this business really is.

Getting your husband or wife to support your mlm business can be quite a difficult thing in the beginning…

You see when I got started I too didn’t have the support of most of my family and friends. A lot of people told me to watch out from getting scammed and schemed and stuff…

…Even a year into my business when I was still struggling, and more importantly not really taking the action required, my family wasn’t supportive, then something happened!

I decided to TAKE MASSIVE ACTION and BECOME FULLY COMMITTED to my business, and would you believe that once I committed I started making money.

How to be Happier More Often… HILARIOUS

You see, Happiness is simply a decision… and I know that if you truly take that to heart, you will no longer get upset when you’re waiting in line at an airport… or when your flight gets delayed for 30 minutes… or when very minuscule things happen that seem so dramatic but in reality things could be worse off.

1 reason why you want to build your mlm business using the internet

So recently I discovered 1 of my favorite reasons for building my mlm business using the internet…

Over the past 3 years I’ve been learning and implementing internet marketing to build a list of leads for my network marketing business and other affiliate income streams. All of which I learned and implemented with MyLeadSystemPro. I’ve been able to stay in touch with them almost daily thanks to having an aweber email autoresponder. Daily contact has built a solid relationship with those of my contacts who read my emails regularly and stay in touch with the training and coaching I offer to my list. Now because I’ve built a solid relationship with my list of leads, which are people from all over the world, I was able to do what I’m about to share with you.

So my favorite reason is being able to expand my business globally with ease…

You see in the beginning of August I was down in Florida for the Numis 2^nd birthday convention, and they announced something HUGE. They announced that they were expanding into the United Kingdom. Within 20 minutes I was emailing my list of over 3000 people world-wide that we were expanding into the UK, and that I was looking for some key people to work with.

Now had I just been building my team offline and locally, I probably wouldn’t have been able to enroll any team members from the UK as easily as I did. I actually enrolled 6 personal team members in the first week of the launch. 1 of whom, Mike Sherratt went on to add 14 more people to my UK team in the next 2 weeks, and a few other team members have also enrolled some people in the UK.

Basically because I was able to simply send an email to my list and invite people from the UK to my team using this awesome 11 minute video right here, I had people eagerly contacting me ready to join my team. I actually had a guy, Benny Howe, join like 8 hours before the launch was supposed to start because he anxiously waited for the UK webpage to go live. He then enrolled a few people and they too are enrolling new team members.

So within 40 days of Numis expanding into the UK I’ve already got a team of 25+ reps in the UK and we’re just getting started. This same thing can happen no matter where your company is expanding, and no matter if your company is already in that part of the world. Doesn’t it just make sense for you to be able to grow your business all over the world instead of just in your local area?
