Just the other day I did an interview with Bill Pescosolido where he revealed his prospecting and connecting secrets.

Today I’m going to teach you that you don’t have to be a good closer, because…

A lot of people, including my old self, believe that in order to make money in network marketing we have to be great at closing people into our business.

What does that really mean?

To me it means being able to convince people against their will to join our business.  Honestly I thought that was what I required to make a lot of money, to be able to “close” people into my business.

Well I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to be a good closer to make money.  In fact it’s actually better if you’re not closing people at all.

What do I mean by that?  Read on…

I was at a private lunch with Ray Higdon yesterday and he was teaching us some absolutely amazing stuff about building teams, the future vision of our company, and this particular insight that inspired this blog post.  I promise you this will absolutely be life-changing as long as you pay close attention.

So as I said I used to believe that in order to build a team and be successful in network marketing I had to get great at “closing” people…

…I now realize that I have to be a great opener. Someone who looks for people who are truly open to changing their current circumstances and showing them how I can help them.

When you start to simply look for people who are open to what you have, you’ll find that you’ll get much more serious people into your team.

I’ve found over the past few years that the people who have duplicated the most and stuck around the longest are the people who saw the vision and talked themselves into the business whether it was my primary company or MLSP.

You see when you have to “sell” someone, “close” someone, or convince them why they should join your team, then they don’t see the vision and more than likely won’t do what it takes to create success in their lives.

When I’m talking to people about myleadsytempro, I listen to what they’re looking for or struggling with, and if I discover that I believe MLSP is a solution I simply say…

“Are you open to watching a 40 minute video that will show you what I believe is the perfect solution you’re looking for?”

That sounds pretty simple, right?

Now if I’m searching for people for numis I’ve got 2 different approaches, 1 for existing networkers and 1 for non-existing networkers.

So for non-existing networkers I’ll simply ask “Do you keep your options open to making money outside of what you’re currently doing if it didn’t interfere with what you’re currently doing?”

For existing networkers I’ll simply ask “Are you at all open to looking into a different company if it meant better upline support and more money in your pocket now?”  I only ask this to people who aren’t totally jacked about their current company.  Again I’m not looking to convince people to join my team if they’re not open, I’m looking for people who are open!

Become an opener and not a closer and you will certainly enjoy the time you do spend prospecting and building your business a whole lot more.  You won’t get stressed out about having to close people into your business.  My last advice to you is that this is a #s game… the more people you ask if they’re open, the better results you’ll achieve.

Now that you know that people simply want you to contact them so they know you’re there to support them, doesn’t that make it a whole lot easier??

I remember about a year ago, I figured I could be like Daegan Smith and not ever call my leads and build a thriving business.  I was extremely stubborn for about 6 months, thinking that if I could get my leadflow up to 50-100 free network marketing leads per day, that I would be able to sign people up without ever speaking to them.

To become effective at MLM sponsoring…

You must have belief in your product, your company, and the fact that you can and will show people how to transform their lives with your help.  If you don’t have belief in what you do, neither will anyone who you’re presenting to.

Check out the post I did about the reason I joined Network marketing… having a solid reason will help you with your own belief level.

In the video below I go over in detail some of the mlm sponsoring secrets I’ve been personally using to put as many as 4 people in my team in a single week.

The other thing I’ve come to realize recently is the power of having a solid team to help you with your mlm sponsoring.  That is what this entire industry is founded on, is being able to leverage off of the success of others and have them help you through your journey to becoming successful.  I never knew the power of the 3-way call until about a month ago, and now I have every interested prospect get on a 3-way call with my sponsor or one of the team leaders in Numis.

You should always leverage the tools (recorded presentations, brochures, audio presentations) and your team to show your prospects that this really is just a game of finding interested people and giving them more information so they can make an informed decision.  By using the tools and the team you’re also showing them that they’re not by themselves when they decide to start a business with you and your company.

The most important part of MLM sponsoring…

The most important part of mlm sponsoring is having a daily or weekly action plan that will lead to mlm success.  Decide which marketing methods will work for you to generate leads and get people onto the business presentation, and then follow a daily action plan to put a certain number of people on your presentation.

MLM sponsoring really is simply a numbers game.  The more network marketing leads you generate the more people you’ll sponsor.  That doesn’t mean that you don’t want to form a solid connection with your prospects or that you don’t want to treat your team members like human beings, because you do want to do that.  What it means is that a majority of the people you present an offer to, and even those that see your presentation and go on to get more information from your company or your sponsor will not join your business.

Multiple exposures are key to MLM sponsoring.

Most people will not join on their first exposure to the business.  This is why you will do a 3-way call, and then get that person to a live webinar or presentation so that they get very comfortable with the ideas of your company and your products and really see that the team is there to support them when they start their business.
