Just about 1 year ago I had to create my very first video so I could generate network marketing leads with my capture page in my new ATTRACTION MARKETING FORMULA. I can honestly tell you that I thought it was the worst video ever created. It took me over 1 week to put it together. I got it done, I got it up on my site, and it generated me quite a lot of leads. I’m writing this to let any of you out there that are totally afraid of the camera get over your fear.
First let me tell you all about me creating my video. I spent about 3 days researching. I studied other marketer’s videos. I listened to their videos over and over so I could actually write down their exact script. Then I took parts from all of their scripts and wrote my own script. First I tried filming while reading the script… That looked terrible, so I decided to try and memorize it. That didn’t work out so well, so I decided to do a little of both.
I’m pretty sure it took me at least 50 takes to get my video right, because I had to keep restarting or I didn’t like my final recording. My point is that I think we all start at this point of wanting perfection. We all get nervous about being on video and letting other people see that we’re human as well. We get worried about what we sound like. We don’t actually put the video together because we let our heads get in the way. I’ve been there, and done that.
I’m going to show you my first video in a minute, but first I want to give you a few pointers.
- Know that everyone’s been there before.
- Know that the actual message is more important than everything being absolutely perfect. People will connect with you as a person, so don’t let perfection keep you from being yourself.
- Have fun with what you’re doing, so that your prospects get the idea that this is fun.
- Don’t ever follow a script in a video. It’s a good idea to give yourself an outline of what you’re going to cover, but you must seem natural on camera. (you’re allowed to break this rule for your first video or 2)
- You’re not a Hollywood Movie Maker, so don’t think you have to be.
This video you’re about to watch is pretty terrible if you ask me. That being said, it still got me 185 Leads in my first 2 months. It got me my first 10 team members to sign up on my team, and made me over $1000. I’m not telling you these results to brag, but rather to let you know it really doesn’t matter as much as you might think. Go ahead and watch this video, and know that you too can put together a video just as good if not better with a little bit of work.

I would definitely have to agree with your title but I cant argue with your results. Jordan you've proved yourself dedicated to the task ever since I have met you now I can I see that from the beginning as well. Thanks for the peek inside.

Wow.. THAT video got you THOSE results?
That just goes to show you, action is always a lot better than getting ready to be perfect.
thanks for sharing this Jordan

I'm amazed too Hector when I looked back to see exactly how many leads I got. I was actually in tears I was laughing so hard at the video…
ACTION is Key!
Thanks Steve,
Really just wanted to let everyone know that perfection isn't necessary, and this is going to be a development process, that only truly grows with action.
That is awesome, I agree with Hector, action is always better than being perfect.
I am doing some video and I think that best way to learn is by practice.
Thanks Jordan for great post.

Hey Jordan!
This is great! I had the exact same problem when I got started with video marketing. It wasn’t until just lately that I said: “You know what? I don’t care if people see my weaknesses, people will care more about the content and a leader who is “consistent” in what he does.”
Consistently bringing value is KEY to being recognized as a leader and authority online.
I appreciate everything you do Jordan! You are definitely an authority in the industry and I truly believe it’s mainly because you have been consistent in your efforts to bring value.
Great job my friend.
Hi Jordan,
Not sure if i have seen worse videos or not, but i suspect I have (my own attempts excluded cause they are WAY worse), but with those results i’m thinking it’s time i gave it another try!
Cheers
John
Hi Jordan! I think the video was pretty good! Better than most do! You definitely looked nervous, LoL. But that is great for everyone to see how nervous you once were, and than watch your more recent videos and see the difference, it goes to show that it is do-able It is definitely nerve wracking when you think about making videos of yourself to watch, I know I absolutely hate it!!! Your an ispiration, and thanks for sharing!
Hi Jordan, I really need a system that works at generating good leads. As you stated in your video social media just does not seem to generate the ammount of leads I’m looking for. Thanks
Hey Jordan,
Everyone that did their first video will agree with everything you said. The goal is ‘Just do it!’
Chat with you later…
Josh
Hi Jordan,
I can relate to that! It took me 3 weeks just to turn the damm camera on, I looked at other videos, wrote a script had it pinned to a cookery book and shot the video. It was not very good but it did get me more leads that just having a picture of myself. A video on a capture is so much better for conversion rates. Greate post.

Hi Jordan,
Thanks for sharing the video.
You are right in stating that the connecting factor is your Realness. When genuine people will respond to you. BTW I liked the vid
Ryan
Thanks for sharing that with us Jordan,
It would be good to see the context it was in.
What capture page did it go with? The standard MLSP page?
And how did you promote it? Your regular process of making it into a blog post and syndicating it?
Best
Darag
Hey Jordan…
I had a good laugh at that too but you laughed all the way to the bank on that so that's the difference!
Thanks for sharing that so that anybody can see perfection doesn't get results but action does!
~Marcus
Jordan,
You are right on. Sometimes we think everything must be perfect the first time. Just do it and you will be amazed at the results.
John
Hi Jordan, Thanks for the video tips! Sometimes we just need to get out of our own way … and let success happen.
Have a great day,
Susan
Jordan,
Don’t beat yourself up. It wasn’t that bad…it was “real” and people connect with that.

You're absolutely right though about just doing it because I got my first 100 or so leads from it my first video as well.
Glad you shared that so people can see that you don't have to get it right… you just gotta get it going.

We all have our own style and it is clear from your video that you are honest and want to help. It really does come down to the message and whether or not you effectively get it across to your audience.
Great post.. I know if you can do it, I can do it as well. Thanks for the encouragement

Thanks Luc,
Yeah, people see imperfections or weaknesses as being able to connect with that person.

I was Nervous… and the only reason it turned out as well as it did was because I did like 100+ takes
I love that saying!

I forget exactly what capture page it went On… I think I had it on http://system.secretMLMcode.com
My process for marketing it was simply my facebook group, because that’s all I knew how to do at the moment.

Perfection is over-rated… I realized early on that most top earners make a lot of mistakes in their videos, because they don’t care
Right On Marcus… HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH
