Jogging Your Way To Internet Marketing Success

Jogging Your Way To Internet Marketing SuccessLast night before I lay down to bed, I decided that I was going to start exercising this morning.  I decided to begin by jogging daily to start getting in shape.  Not only will I lose some of the weight I’ve put on by sitting in front of my computer and eating a lot of fast food to save time, but I will have more energy so that I don’t need to drink as much caffeine anymore.  So I planned a jogging route out last night that was 2 miles long, and knew that after I woke up and responded to the morning e-mails I would go for my jog.  (Keep Reading to get to the Internet Marketing Success Part)

I began at a brisk walk for the first quarter mile, and then picked up to a brisk jogging pace.  I didn’t want to over-do this since I hadn’t worked out in a long time, and I wanted to make sure to finish the whole course.  While I was jogging along my planned course, I kept seeing some shortcuts I could be taking to ease the pain I was feeling in my legs and in my lungs, but I continued on.  I knew that if I took a shortcut I would never get to where I wanted to be health wise.  Sure, I felt a lot of pain in my legs after only 1 mile, but I continued on anyway.

How Does This Tie Into Internet Marketing??

Imagine that all of these shortcuts were simply distractions to your businessI.E.  Television, Going Out, Parties, Sleeping, and Basically anything that can take away from your quality business building time.    I knew while I was running this morning, that I wouldn’t accomplish my goals physically if I gave up and took a shortcut.  Now tie that into your business and imagine if you decided to watch 1 hour of TV every day instead of say reading some personal development books and connecting with leads.  What if You decided to go out with friends 2-3 nights a week instead of getting some extra marketing done so that you were generating leads for your business?

What would Happen to Your Business??

I don’t want to make you think that the only thing in your life should be your business, because that couldn’t be further from the truth, but rather for you to Realize What’s IMPORTANT and What’s NOT.  Could you get by on only watching 30 minutes of TV per day or better yet per week?  Could you get by on going out with friends only 1 night per week?  Do You think your internet marketing business might be better if you decided to read books for personal development or marketing strategies rather than watch TV??

The Big Truth is that if you have the right mentor to show you how to market, how to develop yourself, how to connect with leads, and how to build your business that’s great, but you still need to make some commitment to learning what needs to be learned and accomplishing what needs to be accomplished.  You can’t let the distractions of life happen if you truly want to achieve MASSIVE SUCCESS with your internet marketing business.  Set your goals and stay focused on those goals.  Your big goals may change as you achieve the smaller ones faster, and that’s ok.  You might not reach all of your goals on time, and that’s ok too, as long as you’re working as hard as you possibly can to achieve those goals.  The Bottom Line is there are NO SHORTCUTS to SUCCESS.

  • Enjoyed your post. As I continue my transformation into becoming a better network marketer I do find myself watching less television. The sacrafices you make now to avoid distractions will benefit you down the road. In my office, my door is shut and locked and when I am commuting to my full time job, the iPod is filled with Personal Development, Training videos & audios and other great content. The best part of this is that my commute isn't even a distraction. Thanks again.

  • The car is a great place for personal development audios... I actually let my cds loop multiple times before I take them out to let the message sink in with me. I actually enjoy driving now! I used to hate Driving!

    Jordan,

I heard from one Internet marketer that "For the first three years you had better be thinking about 2 things - your business and sex" :) It is so powerfully important to focus your energy on moving forward, producing, doing, developing yourself. Definitely, one should let go of situations that no longer serve him.

I've started jogging as well in the mornings. Good way to go my friend!

  • I know you're jogging everyday, which is what motivated me to start doing the same Vitaliy... I love having you as a fellow Tribe member.

Congratulations on taking a decision to look after yourself Jordan! We can't expect ourselves to be in peak business condition unless we are looking after ourselves in other areas too.Great post!

  • Distractions, distractions. Usually they keep us from going out and running in the first place. But when it comes to an online or MLM business, focus is critical. And to concentrate on just one thing - like one way to market - will get you a lot farther than trying to juggle 3 things. Great post, Jordan!
  • Thanks Stephen, yes staying focused to one thing at a time is key!
  • Thanks Jordan,
things started to melt here and i ventured out myself before lunch... had to hike through the snow a little bit but overall it wasn't too bad... i love to work out in the same room i 'work' in but nothing beats a hike up the mountain to clear your head and let you focus... great ideas seem to flow when the blood gets oxygenated!
  • Absolutely David,

I find that I do some of my best thinking while I'm out in the fresh air Jogging! What else is there to do but think??
