There is a process that takes place in which our prospects move through our systems and finally end up joining our team or buying our products.  At each step in this process our prospects are saying yes to move onto the next step in the process.  I’m going to go over this process step by step and share with you how to get your prospects to say yes at the final step.  To make your life easier, you want to make sure that you’re not wasting your time on the final steps with people that don’t really want to be there to begin with.  This is why you should have a system in place to qualify your prospects at each step to move on to the next.

You know that you need to generate leads in order to build your business, but there is a step that is absolutely necessary and often over-looked that comes before lead generation.  The first step is to generate quality traffic to your lead capture pages.  You have to qualify someone to even be looking at your specific lead capture page for whatever it is that you’re selling.  When you implement your different marketing strategies, it is necessary to be very specific about what you’re offering on the lead capture page so that the traffic that visits that page actually wants to be there.  If you’re advertisement is not congruent with what people see on the initial website, then they won’t be staying there very long.

When you have narrowed down your website traffic specifically to the people that want what you’re offering, you’ll have a higher conversion rate from visitors to leads.  After you generate these higher quality leads it will be much easier for you to convert these leads to sales or distributors on your team.  Just because these leads are higher quality though doesn’t mean that you don’t have to continue to qualify them for the next step of the process.  It is a really good idea to start to build a relationship with these people via e-mail follow-up.  This is something that every internet marketer does to make these prospects more welcome to your initial conversation with them.  A very easy way to qualify these leads further is to have a double opt-in requirement for your e-mail follow-up.  This will guarantee that your leads took the extra step to receive information from you and actually want to be on your mailing list.

Now that your leads have gone through this qualification process, you know they are actually worth calling on the phone.  (Learn 7 habits of highly successful people in my post on sales prospecting tips)  When you get them on the phone you want to let them know who you are and why you’re calling.  If they don’t recognize you after a brief explanation, you want to send them back to your website and get off of the phone with them.  Remember, your time is too important to be spent doing what your system should be doing for you.  If your prospect meets the first qualification, you then complete the small talk phase of the conversation to get to know a little bit about them.  Here’s where the qualification process begins again.  You ask your prospect why they’re looking for what you’re offering.  They’re either going to tell you they’re not interested, or tell you why they’re looking for what you’re offering.  This will tell you some of their hot buttons.  These are things you want to emphasize in your conversation as to why your product would help them achieve what they want.  This is where you will ask a brief series of questions with an end result of them saying yes to joining your team or buying your product.
