Brian Fanale did a private interview with me at “Live the Dream” in Las Vegas.  We talked briefly about the true role of a leader and a student.  If you’re in the student position and you want to be a leader, pay close attention.  If you’re in the leader position, still pay attention so that you know how to treat your leader.

I gotta tell you, when I first started, I was contacting Brian Fanale on a regular basis and asking for guidance.  The day I realized that I could figure it all out on my own, I started doing just that.  Now that doesn’t mean that I didn’t have people that I connected with, and shared ideas with.  (a Mastermind Group) Cause I certainly had my fair share of mastermind groups after I realized I needed to learn on my own.

The difference between going to your mastermind group and asking your sponsor for help constantly is that you share ideas with your mastermind group.  Someday when you become a knowledgeable marketer, you could very well mastermind with your sponsor.

Quick Story

I used to contact Brian Regularly and ask him questions… He would e-mail me back “Watch the Videos Bro“, Then I would go watch countless videos til I found my answer.  It took about a month and a half before I realized that was his only response…( no i’m kidding, he helped me a little)

Another thing that I didn’t realize until about 8 months into our relationship when I finally got him to come onto one of my webinars to do a live interview was that He and I had never actually spoken on the phone.  If you are able to speak with your sponsor for even 10 minutes a month consider yourself LUCKY or Talented enough to get their time.

Bottom Line is that YOU are the only one who is going to have an effect on your success.  If there is something you don’t know, search GOOGLE or YOUTUBE to learn it.  Ask Your mastermind group after you search for it on your own.  Realize that when you’ve got a team of your own you’re not going to have time to help each individual person daily to make sure they get the answers they need.

A few more tips:

• If your sponsor has weekly team meetings… GET ON THEM
• Keep a running journal of questions for the weekly calls
• attend regular marketing training webinars to get in on the secrets
• buy training courses, and go through them… don’t overload on courses.
• and GOOGLE, GOOGLE, GOOGLE… Need I say more.

Anyways, those are my tips and my experience.  If I would have had a sponsor that held my hand through everything, I wouldn’t be the success story I am today.  BTW… If you haven’t heard, MLSP helped me quit my job.
