What better way to introduce yourself to someone and show them who you are than with a video. Most of the people that you’re going to be building your business with, you might never actually meet in person. Even so, this business is all about building a relationship with the people that you’re coming into contact with, and a video gets that person to feel closer to you. When I call people, the conversations go very smooth for the simple fact that the person knows what I look like, they know my voice, and they can connect with me a lot more! Videos will allow you to brand yourself as the person running the business, rather than those people seeing some person they may never talk to.
Imagine going to a website and seeing a video with some guy named Roger! You like Roger and what he stands for and you want to learn more. So then you get a friend request on Facebook from some guy named Bill, and he tells you you were on his website, and you ignore him because you don’t know who he is. You might also receive a call from Bill, and again you’d have no clue why Bill is calling you because you were expecting a call from Roger. This is inconsistency, and it will do more harm than good for your business.
Let’s go through a quick cycle of people seeing YOU in videos and getting to know you. Start off with someone meeting you on Facebook, and they see pictures of you in your profile, and then they see videos of you in your profile. They are beginning to get to know you on a personal level. Then you invite that person to your Blog, where again you have a video of you welcoming them to your blog, and they get to hear your voice and see you and get to know you! After visiting your blog they decide to click on one of your website links, and the minute they arrive at your website they see You in a video again. The consistency of your prospect seeing your face and hearing your voice makes them feel closer to you, and by the time they answer the phone and you start talking, they will already know who it is! You’ll be like a long lost friend on the phone, and trust me when I tell you that your prospect’s initial hello is a lot more welcomed than your typical call.
When you’re recording your videos to put them on your website, your blog, your Facebook, or where ever you are putting them, you want to make sure that what you’re saying in your videos is relevant to the place you’re posting them as well as the place you’re directing your traffic. Write a script for your video and go over it quite a few times to get a rough idea of what you’re going to be saying to these people. When you’re recording, it’s ok to glance at a script, but you don’t want to look like you’re reading from a book. You also want to sound natural, which wouldn’t happen if you were reading straight from a script. Don’t worry about looking absolutely perfect, because even some of the top earner’s videos are still a little sticky. Just make sure you get your point accross.
One of the biggest reason’s why you would want to use video’s in your marketing is because people are more likely to stay on your site and watch your video! Once they hear a voice talking or see a person in a video, they naturally want to keep watching! Also, it helps to be you in the video rather than some guy they’ve already seen on hundreds of other websites out there. So, get out there and start branding Yourself and Your business!
